What People Say
In August 2020, I began working with Melissa in the midst of distance learning due to COVID. Even though I have been an educator for 25 years, it was a difficult time to get to know students, teachers, and school culture. Melissa was the most welcoming, helpful, and proactively supportive person out of the 100+ person school staff. Even though we had not met in person, she realized that I needed specific tech support to get up to speed with distance learning and reached out to help me- even more frequently than the official tech support department. She listened carefully, shared her insiders tips, and generously gave me a great deal of curriculum. I have heard from many of my new colleagues that Melissa is the most talented educator in the entire school. Any school would be incredibly lucky to have Melissa supporting faculty and students!

Melissa’s knowledge of educational (and all things related to) technology combined with strong leadership skills and engaging teaching methods makes her an amazing asset. I was fortunate to work alongside her for four year as part of a middle school team and my colleagues and I learned a lot from her. Melissa is innovative, dependable and a great (and fun) colleague.
Former Colleague
Melissa is a very popular teacher at our school, applauded for her independent thinking, tech skills, and relationships with students. She consistently volunteers to share better education technology tips with faculty/staff, usually with an accompanying video (moreso than our edTech department does). These have been extra helpful during distance learning, a process that has been difficult for many of our teachers. Having collaborated and co-taught with Melissa numerous times over the past four years, I have been impressed with her lesson planning and the fresh ideas she always presents. I have also served on several committees with Melissa, including the Equity and Diversity Committee and a committee to create a Capstone program in the 8th grade. She would bring fresh insight to any institution that she joined.
